Baud Rate & Node Id Selection for Drives
For drives fitted with dip-switches and roto-switches, such as the P80360, look at the applicable installation manual for details on setting the Node ID and Baud Rates.
Instead of using the user interface to change the Baud Rate & Node Id, these values can be written directly on the registers (40B8 & 40B9) according to the following instructions:
-
Write the register 40B8 (Node Id), keeping the high byte equal to 0xAA and setting the new Id in the low byte. For example, to set the Node Id = 5, write 0xAA05.
-
Write the register 40B9 (Baud Rate), keeping the high byte equal to 0x55 and setting the new baud rate in the low byte. The baud rates are set according to the following table. For example, to set the baud rate = 57600 write 0x5501.
Value Baud Rate 0
115200
1
57600
2
38400
3
19200
-
After writing the new value, wait about 1 second to allow the system to store the new values in NVRAM.
-
The new Baud Rate & Node Id will be in effect the next time the drive is switched on.
